A reminder to join 41 Club on Zoom this Thursday, 9 July, at 7:00pm for an exclusive talk with Tim Bradshaw.

Tim is a former Covert Human Intelligence Officer who has served on a number of operational tours of duty including two tours of Afghanistan.

In 2015 he found himself, whilst trying to climb Mount Everest, in the middle of the largest earth quake to hit the Tibetan and Nepalese regions. Now a Director of Sandstone Communications he heads up a team of specialist consultants and trainers who focus on Leadership and Business Development. During this session he will talk openly about building resilience, staying focused and his battle with depression and anxiety #becauseican

In 2023 Tim will be attempting to take on the toughest rally in the world – The Dakar.

He will race a motorcycle for 12000km unto 14 hours a day across the empty quarter in Saudi Arabia. In doing so he will be carrying the message that it is ok to ask for help … In this session he will give you an outline of the project ahead and invite you to join him on the journey …

41 Club National: join National President Peter talk with actor Dean Andrews

Just a reminder to join us on Zoom today (Thursday, 2 July 2020) at 7:00pm for an exclusive talk with the actor Dean Andrews (who amongst many other roles (United and Last Tango in Halifax, to name but two) played DS Ray Carling in Life on Mars and its sequel Ashes to Ashes.

(Editors note: The meeting ID and password has been sent to all members. If you have not received it please check with Club Secretary Mike as you may not be logged onto the 41 Club national system correctly.)

Unfortunately the host of the last Zoom talk had to disconnect 3 members from the talk because they were disrupting the talk for everyone else and were being disrespectful to the guest speakers, so here’s a reminder of etiquette for these Zoom talks:

  • Please keep your microphone on mute unless invited by the host to un-mute and speak.
  • Use the chat function to ask a question or to advise the host that you want to ask a question.
  • Please do not take umbrage if the host mutes you (you should be muting yourself) – he is doing so for the benefit of all the other listeners.

Following the above simple conference meeting etiquette should make the talk more attractive and enjoyable for everyone.

The talk will also be live streamed on Facebook on the 41 Club Members Forum, and a recording will be subsequently uploaded in due course to the 41 Club YouTube Channel where you can also see previous recordings https://tinyurl.com/41clubyoutube

41 Club National: join us for the next fabulous talk on Thursday, 18 June 2020

The details for this Thursday’s talk are as follows:-

As you are hopefully aware, for his tenure as 41 Club National President, Peter Good has chosen Dementia UK as his nominated charity. It is a subject close to the heart of many members. Peter lost his mother to the disease and is very passionate about raising the awareness of its impact upon society and upon our families.

This Thursday, 18th June, at 7pm Guest Speaker Ellen Jurczak from Dementia UK will talk to 41 Club and you and your family are invited to join in. She will  cover all aspects of Dementia UK’s strategy, whilst explaining their vision of providing specialist and compassionate support for all families that need it, through their Admiral Nurse service.

When things get challenging or difficult for people with dementia and their families, Admiral Nurses work alongside them, giving the one-to-one support, expert guidance and practical solutions people need.

In the last three years Dementia UK have doubled the number of Admiral Nurses across the UK. Their aim is to increase the number of Admiral Nurses by a further 50% during the current period and their ambition is for an Admiral Nurse service to be accessible to every part of the UK.

It should be an evening not to be missed.

41 Club Region 6 Newsletter and National Magazine

Good afternoon Gents,

I hope you are all staying safe and healthy during this terrible pandemic we are enduring.

As part of my role as your National Councillor I have been asked to produce the June 41 Club magazine

Therefore, I am writing with a request for articles for my Region 6 newsletter due to be issued at the end of June  and for the National magazine due to be issued at the end of the month.

If you have anything that you feel you could share with the rest of the region or with the organisation as a whole, I would very much like to see it.

The deadline for articles for the National Magazine is Tuesday 26th May 2020.

Thanks in advance.

Please reply to: Region6@41Club.org
