Our next meeting is 13 November 2014: The bombardment of Scarborough 1914

Scarborough_bombardment

On 16 December 1914, German battlecruisers bombarded the town, causing great damage and the loss of 18 lives. Many more were injured. They then moved on to Whitby.

Local historian Keith Johnston will describe the events to us.

Please note: this will be an early meeting – 6.45pm for 7pm with the talk before the meal.

The meeting is at Scarborough Rugby Club.

Also note: due to the requirements of the venue, any apologies for the meeting are needed one week ahead of time, ie by the end of Thursday, 6 November.
