Dear all,
Well you’ll be pleased to know that I will be standing in for our chairman Richard at next week’s AGM.
This is due to the fact that he’s had a better offer and so he’s off to Barcelona with Daph for a few days.
I intend running a free bar for the night and as its Richards place, I’ll say he’s picking up the tab!
Indeed this might encourage one or two of you have not attended much (if at all) this year to come along and welcome your new chairman Tom in.
Mind you if that fails, I’ll try and persuade Tom to pick up the tab.

Other than that we are due to have a couple of inductions for Mark Laws and Mike Rought-Brooks, but this is yet to be confirmed.

So I hope to see at least some of you at the Crown Spa next Thursday.

Happy New Year to you all.

My role as your long suffering secretary is becoming less suffering all the time these days, due to our Website taking over a lot of the more mundane functions.

One of them being was in sending out meeting reminders to the 15 members who still don’t have internet access or don’t wish to use it for Scarborough 41 Club information.

However the last of these monthly letters were posted out in December which gave the details of forthcoming meetings.

I have received a request from John White to re-join Scarborough 41 Club. Now as he was a previous member and resigned due to personal matters, he is perfectly entitled to re-join.

So as such I wish, on your behalf, to welcome John back into our club (so that he can help Tom during his year in the chair!).

Some members have apparently been having difficulty identifying the details of the December meeting, these are situated in the “upcoming events” section of each page. If the relevant date is not visible you should click on “view calendar” to find the appropriate month. You can also look in the Calendar part of the top menu.

To assist for the next meeting the details are as follows :-

The next meeting is at The Curry Leaf, 2 Pavillion Terrace (opposite Comet (now closed) at the Somerset Terrace lights) on 13 December at 7.30pm.

Having been away on holiday for the last meeting, which I’ve heard good reports of, I have nothing to report other than to say that the list of members still on snail mail is gradually reducing. Which is due not to resignations but to snail mail members having switched in to the 21st century.

Greetings gentlemen.

Well it’s that time of year again when we re-start 41 Club again with our meeting in September. Mind you as some of you seem to switch off during the summer. Re-starting has always proved a little difficult, as the traditional poor turnout for the September meeting demonstrates.

As for any member changes, I have received Chris Gray’s resignation, to which I have responded accordingly on behalf of the club.

So hopefully this new way of distributing the monthly newsletter will not only save the club money but also give Alison here at Care Micro a well earned rest.
